Course overview
This degree is for those who are passionate about geology, especially those with a particular interest in applied engineering or environmental geosciences. It immerses you in geological sciences, enriched by selected elements of physical geography which reflect the present-day expression of geological processes. You will gain a firm grasp of the fundamental aspects of hard and soft rock geology before the focus of the degree shifts to applied geology and, in particular, environmental, engineering and extractive geology. The physical geography element of the programme can be selected to support your geological and personal interest and may include, for example, coastal and fluvial geomorphology, weather and climate, soils and natural hazards.
