Course overview

This degree is for those looking to enter a career in counselling and psychotherapy, either in an environment which offers counselling or one which encompasses the emotional and psychological wellbeing of others. You will develop counselling knowledge and practical skills while training to become a highly effective therapist. You will gain a critical understanding of the theories, policies and practice relating to counselling and psychotherapy and will specialise within a person-centred experiential model of therapy. Experienced tutors will support you throughout, from gaining introductory counselling skills with your peers to undertaking professional counselling practice with clients. Successful completion of this degree will enable you to practice as a counsellor and psychotherapist.
