Course overview

Taught by specialists from the Department of Mathematics, the Department of Economics and City's Cass Business School, the Mathematics with Finance and Economics BSc (Hons) at City will prepare you for a rewarding future career in a range of sectors or a variety of postgraduate study options.

The course will provide you with an understanding of mathematical methods - including computing and computational mathematics, statistics and probability - and how to apply them to real-world problems.

You will also develop your knowledge of financial and economic theory, such as financial markets, corporate finance, and micro- and macroeconomics.

As well as giving you a sound theoretical foundation, the course also has a practical and vocational edge, offering an exciting opportunity to find a paid, one-year placement after your second year. Placements are paid up to £25,000 pro rata per year, with some organisations choosing to exceeding this.
