About Sugar Paste Modelling, Other UG Award - at City of Glasgow College

On the course, you will make a selection of animals and people in sugar paste and marzipan.  You will start with marzipan fruits practising basic shapes to form the fruits and progress each week to develop skills in moulding and forming shapes by hand to make impressive models of a variety of characters.  Each week you will make at least one model - sometimes more. Some models may take more than one week as your skills develop and more advanced models are tried. 

Hints and tips are given throughout the course as well as advice on how to overcome problems that you may have with your modelling skills. You will use basic tools and learn skills in colouring paste, painting details and features using gel colours. You will also use cutters and moulds to decorate some of your models.
