Course overview

This course allows you to combine study of Linguistics with modules in English Language. The two subjects are complementary, allowing you to gain a full understanding of the way in which language abilities develop as well as developing your knowledge and capabilities in the use of English language. Linguistics is described more fully on the Linguistics page. In the introductory modules of the course you will look at issues such as how our language changes according to the context in which it is being used and how men's and women's language use differs.
